Unaccountable is a word that refers to something that is hard to explain or that does not seem to make sense. It is also used to describe people or organizations that are not responsible for their actions or do not feel that they have to explain their actions to others.

Definition

Accountability refers to the expectation that someone is responsible for their actions or decisions. It also includes the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences.

Unaccountable means that a person or organization is not responsible to anyone for their actions, or does not feel they have to explain their actions to anyone. This may be a bad thing, as it can lead to poor or unethical behavior.

The reluctance of Governments to be held accountable by Parliament, courts, constitutional conventions or international law is a form of unaccountability. This is often done under the guise that electoral mandates free Governments from scrutiny.

Many Government policies that I have examined in this paper are linked by the common thread of unaccountability, and all point to a Government who is not willing to acknowledge constraints on their power to act. They all reflect a deep-seated dissatisfaction with the limits of their power and an underlying resentment of the need for scrutiny.

Examples

An unaccountable person or organization does not have to explain themselves to someone else. This can be a good thing, but it can also be a bad one. It can lead to a sense of mistrust and disbelief in people who feel they have no one to hold them accountable.

Accountability is the ability to keep your promises and commitments to others, even when you’re having a bad day. Taking responsibility for your actions helps you build trust and improve your relationships.

It also helps you make wise decisions and avoid costly mistakes. A person who is accountable knows that failure is part of life, so they’re more likely to try to prevent it from happening or to do damage control after it’s already happened.

The best example of accountability is a leader who makes their commitments to their team members a top priority. This not only makes their job easier but it will also inspire their teams to do the same.

Synonyms

Synonyms for unaccountable include inexplicable, impossible to explain and unexplained. Using these synonyms can make it easier for you to find the right word for any situation.

Moreover, it can help you avoid repetition in your writing. You can also use these words to improve your style.

In the context of politics, unaccountability means that the Government refuses to be held accountable by Parliament, courts, constitutional conventions or international law. This is done in order to avoid the pressures that come with being held to account by democratically elected representatives.

In relationships, unaccountability can be the root of many problems. It can lead to a partner being distant, moody or even angry. It can also make it difficult for a person to fulfill their promises.
